[] I tell you, it’s a feeling when one of the sports figures you watched a ton of when they played passes away. You think, “man, he wasn’t that old” then you see a recent picture and it blasts you in the face. Ryne Sandburg passed away yesterday and I remember watching him play second base for the Cubs back in the day. I still picture him that way and when I heard he died I was like, “no way…he ain’t old.” He wasn’t old but was older than me. It’s sad…and a bit startling when contemporaries start dying.
[] Marjorie Taylor Greene – I never ever, ever thought I’d be within the same hemisphere of her on any thought or idea but her comments yesterday on the starving in Gaza – while coming late to the party and not really recognizing what caused the starving – is something I’m in agreement with. Whew…you never know I guess.
[] “That’s what I voted for!” is something I hear a lot right now, especially concerning ICE and what they are doing. I wish these folks could realize that they probably know, maybe love someone who is undocumented or came here undocumented and they are unaware. So when the conversation turns toward immigration and deportation, there are people holding their tongue and the hate being spewed hits them like a ton of bricks. We all know undocumented people…we just might not know we know.
