I have started a new page on my site here at mattmunnell.com. It title is “26.2 x 262 x 60”.
What does this mean? Well it means that I am training to run a full marathon (26.2 miles) in 262 minutes (4 hours and 22 minutes) when I turn 60 years old (in about two years and 1 month).
The page I started will be sort of a journal of my training and everything that goes along with it. I am going to take things slow – obviously since I gave myself a two year target – to avoid injury. I may be able to do it quicker but I want to make sure I can train in a healthy manner.
262 minutes is just a 10 minute a mile pace. Not fast but faster than I have ever run a marathon before. I have run three full marathons before, numerous half marathons, multiple 10Ks and 5Ks. I am looking forward to this challenge. It is totally doable if I can remain disciplined and consistent. In fact, it could be relatively easy if I can can get into a routine…we’ll see. If you have any tips or tricks please feel free to share them. I’d love to hear them. I anticipate this to be a total body/life style makeover. Again…we’ll see…
So I invite you to follow along on my page 26.2 x 262 x 60 and maybe you even want to join me with a journey of your own!
