The idea behind starting this blog many years ago was to express ideas on the topic of leadership in the workplace. If you have been reading the posts lately you may believe that I have gone outside that scope as I have been writing on the need to speak out and be a voice to end the systemic racism that plagues this country. Some might say “stick to your subject. You are not an expert on race relations and how they impact society politically, economically, in the education system, with housing and more.”
The folks that might say that would be right. I am not an expert. But you do not have to be an expert to speak out and you do not have to be an expert to lead. You just need a desire to find the truth. You just need a desire to listen and then process what you heard. You just need a desire to assist and serve others. These things work inside the workplace and outside. I know what I have written the last few days fits the scope of my blog and the scope of leadership.
Leaders are always learning. They are always trying to gain more knowledge that helps improve relationships with their teams and in turn move the team forward in a positive manner. “A more perfect union…”
We will never be perfect but we can strive each and every day to be “more perfect.”
“Put one foot in front of the other…”
