“What are you working on?
Do you ever get that question? Do you ever ask yourself that question? I think it’s a tougher question to ask yourself and then answer honestly. It’s very easy to put out in the world what your intentions are and frame them in a way that makes it seem like you are actually taking action toward that something. It’s much harder to put something in your head that you want to go do and then put the steps in place to actually get it done.
But honesty is the best policy – honesty with yourself. And it’s ok to answer the question “What are you working on?” with “Nothing. I’m not working on anything at the moment except getting from one day to the next.” That can be an achievement worth celebrating at times. Just as long as you do not answer the question that way too many days, weeks or even months in succession.
I am pretty sure that most of us have things we want to work on. All you need to do is to start. As I wrote in a previous post, “Put one foot in front of the other…”
“What are you working on?”
“Oh, you won’t believe it but I’m doing…!”
Exciting!
